Kirsty...

A little bit about me...

Hi, I'm Kirsty, mum to 2 boys, and Qualified Early Year Teacher! In my spare time I enjoying socialising with my family and friends - I’m a really social butterfly! We love county walks, long weekends away, getting stuck into a great TV series and taking our children on new adventures!
After initially qualifying in 2004, I moved onto Uni to further my studies and gained a BA HONS in Early Childhood Studies. An amazing gap year then took me to Australia and California - amazing in equal measure. All good things must come to an end and I settled down into nursery life where I worked my way up to Nursery Manager in 2018.  At 16 years old, I confidently declared ‘Mum, one day I’m going to own my own nursery’. Well after studies, holidays, 2 beautiful children, a gorgeous wedding and years of dedication and hard work…my dream has become a reality and I can’t wait.!

Sam...

A little bit about me...

Hi everyone, my names Sam and I’m one of the directors here at Little Peaks Day Nursery! My journey in the child care sector began in 2000 when I completed my NNEB Level 3. I then moved into Nurseries which is where my passion for caring for and educating young children really began. A particular area of interest has been supporting children with SEN and EAL - I find this extremely rewarding. In order to prioritise family life, when my son started school, I made the decision to go self employed and qualified in Home Based Childcare. I enjoyed 7 wonderful years working closely with families in order to provide the very best possible care for their children. When I’m not working I enjoy filling my time with friends and family! When I’m not sat in various ice rinks watching my son play ice hockey, I can found enjoying a family camping trip in Bakewell or hosting a board games night.

Now, after a very enjoyable 23 years in child care, I want to create something new and different, where children and families always come first and top quality care and education is at the forefront. Introducing…Little Peaks Day Nursey!

Sally

A Little bit about me!

Hi, I'm Sally and I'm the room leader of Ducklings Den, our lovely baby room.  I started my career in child care many moons a go and my passion for looking after and educating young children has just grown and grown.  I've had experience with all ages, but I must admit, babies hold a very special place in my heart  - watching them develop new skills is a  real highlight of my day! When I'm not at work, I'm with my little boy who definitely keeps me busy! Whether we're whizzing about on his scooter, down at the allotment with the chickens or supporting his favourite team, Sheffield United, it's always good fun!  I like to bring the fun into work too.....keep an eye out for my themed slippers, from easter chicks to Santa Claus - they are always a talking point for the Parents at drop off time! I've been part of Little Peaks since the start and it's been amazing to be part of something so special...long may it continue!

Amy

Hi, I'm Amy and I've been part of Little Peaks since June 2025. I work in Ducklings Den and I can honestly say I LOVE my job! From supporting parents to watching babies achieve their early milestones - it's job satisfaction at it's best!  Previously, I have worked in a school nursery and I am also a qualified Dental Nurse. I Love planning for children's next steps and special events - I'm really creative and watching children enjoy the set-ups I've created is amazing (especially when I get to play along side them!).  When I'm not at work, I can be found running the odd half marathon,  attending music gigs or planning holidays...Iceland or Albania are two of my favourites! I can't wait to welcome new families to Little Peaks!

A little bit about me...

Hi, I’m Jodie, I work at nursery on a Monday and Thursday and I am based in Ducklings Den, though I do help out in the others rooms as well. I have worked in childcare for a very long time and have experience working with 0-5 years. I really enjoy working in the baby room and watching them learn and grow (and getting lots of cuddles!). Though I also like going in lambs loft to join in with dancing and singing along to all the children’s requested songs! It’s such a rewarding job and every day is different.
On my days not at work I am spending time with my husband Tim, 3 children, Ted, Woody and Pippa and our very energetic sheepdog, Douglas. We like to spend lots of time outside going on walks in the Hope Valley where we live and helping out on our family farm.

Debbie

A little bit about me...

Hello! I'm Debbie and I qualified in childcare, gaining the NNEB in 1996. My career has provided me with many different roles and experience, from Nannying to Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner to Paediatric Play Specialist and over the last 10 years I have worked in Leadership and Management.

Helping children to grow, learn, develop and thrive is a passion of mine and being part of them reaching some of the important milestones, learn new things, watching them develop new skills and gain confidence leaves me with a feeling of pride and provides many highlights to the working day.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, 4 children aged 16, 19, 26 and 27. We holiday together, go out for meals, walk our beloved dog Hugo and have many family games nights. I also like to read and love crafts. I make cards, decorations and party goodies.

The team at Little peaks is professional, caring and fun and I am very happy to be a part of that.

A Little bit about me...

I’m Jenny, the room leader of Calves Corner, our preschool room. I have worked in childcare since starting as an apprentice over 14 years ago. During my time working in childcare I have worked with all age groups but I always ended up gravitating towards preschool. When children begin preschool their personalities really begin to shine and it takes their play to whole new levels, they are also still amazed at the world around them and even the simplest thing can spark their imaginations. When I’m not at work I spend time with my 3 children, looking after our pets or on my allotment for a bit of peace and quiet. Whilst at work I love to allow the children to explore and messy play is one of my favourite ways to do this as it helps develop many of the different areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Sarah

A little bit about me...

Hi I'm Sarah, I have been working in childcare for many years and enjoy working with all age groups, however, I’m most passionate about supporting toddlers to gain independence and early communication skills along with experiencing huge cognitive leaps. I joined Little Peaks in August 2025 and I thoroughly enjoy it and aim to ensure the environment in Lambs Loft is nurturing and rewarding.

I am originally from North Somerset but relocated to Derbyshire in May 2025 with my daughter to be near to my family. I am absolutely loving being in the Peak District and most of my spare time involves walking or running and enjoying the breathtaking scenery. I have become a keen trail runner over the past few months and I am currently training for a half marathon!

A Little bit about me...

Hi I'm Louise,

I've always had a passion for working with children and I started training at college straight from leaving school where I gained my level 3 qualification. I then worked in a day nursery and gained experience working with all age groups up to the age of 5. I worked my way up and became room leader which lead me to train and qualify to level 4 to become a deputy manager and then acting manager to cover maternity leave. I then took some time out to start my own family and I'm blessed with two amazing children. While focusing on bringing my children up my career took a different path and I found myself working as a support worker caring and supporting adults with learning disabilities. I found this job to be very rewarding and I gained a level 2 qualification in health and social care, after 13 years, returning to my first passion was not an easy decision but was absolutely the right one.

In my spare time I enjoy going away with my friends and family whenever I get the chance and enjoy having quality time together. I have recently found the courage to go on the back of my husbands motorbike and was surprised how much I actually enjoy it and the excitement of finding new places to explore.

I'm excited for what my future brings me here at Little peaks.
